Production Assistant

September 2017 - January 2019

Joining the company shortly after their opening in September of 2017, I assisted with the ideation, installation, and maintenance of seven several month-long exhibitions along with numerous private events. Acting as the Production Assistant, I worked closely with the Production Director to oversee and carry out all technical and design related tasks.

I felt very fortunate to join the company as they were just beginning, which gave me the opportunity to work alongside a small team of motivated, passionate, and talented individuals. The fast-paced, ever-changing work environment provided unique experiences in all aspects of exhibition art and experimental design – from projection mapping and interactive software to budgeting and customer relations.

During my time at ARTECHOUSE, I worked primarily on the installation and development of interactive technology for the space. This involved working with devices such as Microsoft Kinect and Leap Motion Tracking as well as the fabrication and build of large, scale structures to house technology. Besides technical installation, my position also encompassed maintenance and communication during exhibition run-time. Specifically, I created manuals used by all ARTECHOUSE staff consisting of start-up, shut-down, and troubleshooting procedures. In addition, I took regular shifts during opening hours to provide emergency maintenance on malfunctioning technology.

Lastly, I worked on purchases and inventory of all ARTECHOUSE technology and other assets. Working with G Suite, I helped the company track expenses and coordinate an efficient use of materials for future exhibitions.
